Arrived in Melbourne and went straight to the "allnations" hostel.

On top of the Shrine of Remembrance I tried the photostich feature of the camera - works quite well for the web - even though you see the seams when taking a closer look.
Nearby is the Melbourne Botanical garden where you smell a weird stench in your nostrils - look up ! ( take a closer look at the bottomleft corner on the left picture ).
Flying foxes all over the place. As dusk falls they awake and stretch.
Went onto the Riva tower and had a spectacular view that night.
Next day I joined Astrid a biology student from Jena to the the melbourne city museum.
We went to St.Kilda later that day where we went straight for a roller coaster ride in the Lunapark. I persuaded Astrid to join me on the roller coaster. At the beginning she seemed happy........ maybe that was a bad idea ? :v)
In Melbourne Santa does travel with the tram if his reindeer have better things to do.
Even in young australia buildings are sometimes protected from destruction - so they built a mall around the old firehouse.
